Nestled between Santa Rosa and Bodega Bay, Sebastopol is 21 miles to the coast. It is known for its liberal politics and small-town charm. At one time it was mainly a plum and apple growing region but wine grapes are now predominant, nearly all lands once used for orchards are now vineyards. World-famous horticulturist Luther Burbank had gardens in this fertile region. The city bustles with fairs and festivals year round, but is most famous for the annual Apple Blossom Festival and Gravenstein Apple Fair.
